In under two years, Real Times has
become the leading Internet real estate news service for consumers and real
estate professionals, building a strong following and distribution network. Due
to the evolution of the site and a change in ownership, Real Times is changing
its name to Realty Times.
The site debuted 19 months ago with the introduction of Agent News. As the
service grew in popularity, it was redeveloped as Real Times in a strategic
partnership with RealSelect, operator of Realtor.com and Homebuilder.com. It quickly became the news service of
choice for the real estate sections of most major portals. Just recently Realty
Times has greatly increased its exposure on Lycos, Go.com, and BellSouth and
is also found in the real estate sections of Yahoo, Netscape and Excite, among
others. Currently, over 800 web sites carry Realty Times news.
Recently the partnership between RealSelect and Jody Lane, Realty Times'
publisher, was ended by mutual agreement. As a result, Lane gained full
ownership of Realty Times. Lane says that the close relationship between Realty
Times and RealSelect will continue, and the news service will still be found on
Realtor.com.
"The new name, Realty Times, will not only reflect this new era of ownership,
it will better reflect the evolution and nature of the news service, " says
Lane. "Realty Times is the most comprehensive real estate news service on the
Internet, with daily news, original features, investigative reporting, columns
and services provided for consumers, agents, commercial brokers, and any
industry professional with an interest in the real estate transaction."
The RealTimes.com address will remain active and will
direct visitors to the new address at RealtyTimes.com. Realty Times will work with its customers and partners over the next several weeks to complete the transition.
